Last week the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary were honored at the Orange County Land Trust annual benefit and auction. They, along with the Sisters of Saint Dominic of Blauvelt, were recognized for decisions to conserve on their property.
Recently the congregation put some of their land into a trust. This land includes a wooded area that features a stream corridor to Brown's Pond, the secondary water source for the city of Newburgh. The protection of this valuable natural resource aligns with the congregation's commitment to address economic, environmental and racial inequity, especially as it affects women and children.
We are honored to join Orange County Land Trust in preserving our natural resources for future generations!
