Over 25 years ago Massachusetts and New York united to become the New Windsor Presentation Sisters. On Sunday, March 12 the Presentation sisters living at Presentation Convent in Leominster, Massachusetts, had a prayer service as they prepared to move this week from the convent where they have lived for many years.
Our celebration began by acknowledging the loss and fears that rise within the heart upon completion of one part of the journey and transitioning to another. We celebrated the gift of God's promise of peace future full of hope, symbolized as the sisters joyfully processed from the chapel carrying their lighted lanterns.
The sisters will join the Sisters of Notre Dame in Worcester to form a collaborative community of service through our ministry of common prayer for the needs of our world today. As we leave Presentation Convent in Massachusetts, we know it will not be easy, but Nano Nagle has shone her lantern in directing us in this evolving time of religious life. Our sisters and associates in Massachusetts remain a vital part of our New Windsor Presentation mission and ministry. This move will allow for their daily spiritual and physical needs to be met as they remain an important part of our congregation.
