Sr. Patricia Morrison of the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, New Windsor, entered eternal life at Cabrini Nursing Home on December 28, 2021, at age 81.
Sr. Patricia was born in New York City on November 22, 1940. She professed final vows as a Sister of the Presentation on April 10, 1966. She attended St. Michael’s HS in Manhattan. She graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas with a BS in Education, from Queens College with an MS in Elementary Education, and Iona College with an MS in Pastoral Counseling.
Over the course of 49 years, Sr. Patricia taught at St. John in Goshen, NY; St. Frances of Rome in Bronx, NY; St. Michaels in NY, NY; St. Jude in Manhattan, NY and St. Helen in Howard Beach. After teaching, Sr. Patricia served as the secretary for the Religious Consultant Center in Brooklyn, NY, a guidance counselor at St. Thomas Aquinas, and then a secretary at St. Rose of Lima School in Rockaway Beach, NY, and St. Raphael School in the Long Island City, NY.
Sr. Patricia was pre-deceased by her parents Edward and Martha (Matthews) Morrison, and her brother Edward.
Sr. Patricia survived by her sister-in-law, Mrs. Edith Morrison, her nieces, and nephew Richard and Mary Morrison, Patricia and John McAleena, Kathleen and Eric Schultz, and Kelly and Mario Spina.
A viewing will be held at Mount St. Joseph, 64 Presentation Way, New Windsor, NY on Thursday, December 30th beginning at 3:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow on December 31st at 11:00 am and be buried at Mount St. Joseph Cemetery, New Windsor, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Sr. Patricia’s name to: Sisters of the Presentation, 84 Presentation Way, New Windsor, NY 12553.
