Summer Raffle

Join the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in celebrating our history of education in Louisiana by entering our 2024 summer raffle for a trip to The Big Easy!
In 1949 our sisters were called to St. Lucy School in Houma, Louisiana, to teach. In 1959 we added St. David’s in New Orleans to our places of ministry. We served in education ministry in the area until 1984. In 2005, after Hurricane Katrina, the North American Presentation congregations began a collaborative ministry to the poor called Lantern Light Ministry. In the spirit of apostolic religious, we stayed at this ministry until the time came to hand its care over to the people of New Orleans. One of our associate ministers, Kenitha Grooms-Williams, carries Nano’s light forward as executive director of the ministry, and many of our associate ministers who live in the New Orleans area continue to volunteer in service to the mission.

We are excited to offer you this opportunity to visit an area that has been so meaningful for our sisters! 

Ten percent of the proceeds of this raffle will be donated to Lantern Light Ministry to continue the mission to serve those in need in the New Orleans area. The remainder of the proceeds will help us to continue to carry out our mission in the New York and Massachusetts areas and to care for our sisters.
