June 15, 2023We are pleased to announce the recipients of our Catholic school scholarships for the 2023-24 schoolyear. Called to the New York area in 1874 to educate Catholic children in Manhattan, our sisters have long held the belief that education is fundamental to providing the tools to build a solid foundation for the future. Our foundress, Nano Nagle, also held this belief as she educated young people in the lanes of Cork, Ireland, in the 1700s during the time of penal laws. We have carried on this tradition of Catholic education, serving as educators in Catholic schools in the region for well over 100 years. In recent years many of our sisters have been called to serve other areas of need, but our commitment to Catholic education is as strong as ever. To promote Catholic education and Catholic values in our youth, we are awarding Catholic school
scholarships to help those in need to access a Catholic education.
