In 1775 Nano Nagle founded the congregation of the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Cork, Ireland. For their first Christmas, the sisters invited 50 guests on Christmas Day for dinner.
The Sisters of the Presentation were founded in New York in 1874, 150 years ago. In honor of our anniversary, the Sisters of the Presentation and their associate ministers held a luncheon for the people of Newburgh on December 23. In addition to a meal, guests were offered hats, gloves, scarves and socks.
It was a wonderful time of celebration and spreading Christmas cheer!
