March 15, 2023Sister Bernadette (Mary Rosanne) Rohan entered eternal life on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at St. Cabrini Nursing Home, Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. She was 83 years old.
Sister Bernadette was born September 30, 1939, in Queens, N.Y., and joined the Sisters of the Presentation on September 8, 1957. She professed first vows on April 23, 1963 and final vows on April 23, 1965.
After graduating form St. Michael’s High School, Manhattan, she earned a bachelor's in education from Fordham University in 1965, and a degree to become registered nurse from Misericordia Hospital School of Nursing in 1975.
During her ministry, Bernadette taught at St. Andrews in Clifton, N.J.; St. Frances of Rome, Bronx N.Y.; St. John the Evangelist, Manhattan, N.Y.; and Our Lady of Consolation, Wayne, N.J. She was a nurse at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Mary Manning Walsh Home, both in New York City, and Mt. St. Joseph Infirmary, New Windsor, N.Y.
In addition to her family at the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Bernadette is survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Wake Services will be held on March 19, 2023 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6 p.m. at Mount St. Joseph Chapel, 64 Presentation Way, New Windsor, N.Y. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on March 20, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Mount St. Joseph. Burial will follow in Mount St. Joseph Cemetery, New Windsor, NY.
