Sister Cecile (Mary Columba) Belliveau

Sister Cecile (Mary Columba) Belliveau was born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, one of ten children, and graduated from St. Bernard’s High School. Soon afterwards, she entered the Sisters of the Presentation

Sister spent her early years in ministry in elementary schools in Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island.

In the early 1970’s  Cecile decided to go to hairdressing school, graduating in 1975. From then on, she was the sisters' hairdresser par excellence. You could most often find Cecile in her salon on the bottom floor of Presentation Convent at 99 Church St. What magic she could perform!

In addition to her work as a hairdresser, Sister also worked part time as a pastoral associate in St. Leo’s Parish in Leominster.

In 2019, as Cecile’s health began to fail, she moved to St. Mary’s Health Care Center in Worcester, Massachusetts, to be near one of her sisters who was residing in that facility. After her sister’s death later that year, she moved to St. Patrick’s Manor in Framingham, Massachusetts, where several of her Presentation sisters were living and where she now resides.
